Fireside Lodge opened its doors December, 1946. It originally had eight one and two bedroom brick cottages with weeping mortar. Over the years, it had other units added. In 1992, it was completely rebuilt after the earthquake in Big Bear. It now has grown to 32 units. Motel rooms, one and two bedroom suites, and spa suites replaced the original architecture. They all have character, whether it's one of the basic rooms or one of the more romantic rooms with a gas log fireplace and a little refrigerator. The hotel is minutes to dining, shopping and entertainment venues. |
